Creating Interview Questions
Using your Learning Journal, write down questions you would like to ask and information you would like to find out. Once you have your questions, bring your Learning Journal to use during the interview. This way you can write down some answers to help you identify what services you may need to research in order to help continue building your Welcome Pack.

- The person you are interviewing may have been through a traumatic experience on their journey to Australia, so remember to show some sensitivity.
- Your objective when coming up with questions is to extend on your knowledge about what refugees need when they first arrive in Australia. You're speaking with someone who has been through it all, so add their perspective to the ideas that you have for your Welcome Pack.
- A good question will get a thoughtful answer, include a mix of open and closed questions.
- Each question should start with one of the following question-starters: Who, what, when, where, why & how?
