Writing your Information Report
For your information report, you need to include the information below. Remember you are writing this for someone who might not speak a lot of English, so make your sentences simple and short. Also, you might want to include pictures of the school. This will really help, so take a camera and get snapping!
Introduction
Your information report needs to include a brief introduction about our school. You can include information about the history, the number of students, our uniform and the things you enjoy at this school. Body The body of your report will be 2-3 paragraphs long. In this section you will need to include important details, such as: |

- Any important rules. e.g. No Hat, No Play, Play Equipment Rules, Recycling Procedures
- Sport days and what sport events our school holds
- Any other important events e.g. Assembly, Swimming Carnival, Athletics Carnival, Book Week, School Spectacular etc.
- Some of the exciting programs/opportunities we have e.g. Music and Choir, Kitchen Garden Program, Environmental Committee, School Council etc.
- Important facilities e.g. Library, Gym, Kitchen, Computer Labs etc.
- Any other information you think is important.

In your conclusion you need to make one final statement, it might be the thing you like best about our school and end with a line that will make the reader feel welcome.

What you choose to label is up to you but think carefully about your choices. You might want to research how maps can be set out so they are easy to read.
