Brochure Building
Your Brochure can be either physical or digital, using classroom materials or Microsoft Publisher. It could be about an organisation you have experience with, but it MUST address a pressing need you have previously identified. These are your instructions:
Create a brochure on a community activity or resource, explaining what it is and how it can be helpful. OR Create a brochure on an organisation in Victoria that assists refugees. Find a list here: Refugee Council of Australia |
Your brochure will have:
1. An appropriate format for someone with limited English. Layout must be easy to navigate with titles and subheadings.
2. An introduction to the community activity/resource.
3. An explanation of what it is.
4. A small response to what need it addresses (e.g. using a library could make you feel more secure because you could get on the internet and find any information you need).
5. Contact details and preferably a small map.
6. A creative and appealing layout.

Pulling It All Together
Fantastic! What you've made already will be of great help to a new student in our class, now it's time to put everything together by creating your Welcome Pack.
What goes inside it is far more important, but your Welcome Pack should be easy to carry and appealing to look at. Materials from within the classroom can be used and are completely up to you.
Put time into making your Welcome Pack 5-Star quality work so it will be something a new student will really appreciate.
